Nine of Swords hang above a bed on which man sits upright, head in his hands. He is overwhelmed by ideas, worries, problems, failures, mistakes, regrets, self-criticism. His obsessive thinking does not allow him any rest.

 

There is such a thing as being too introspective. Mulling over the same things again and again is not productive; it only creates and aggrevates problems, blowing things out of proportion. Where the other Hermit-related Nines show introspection as helpful and positive, Nine of Swords emphasizes the downsides. The solution is to calm your thoughts and turn your gaze outwards again.
